Montana WWAMI Faculty Development Conference

The Montana WWAMI Faculty Development Conference will be held April 8-10 at Big Sky Resort. The goal of the conference is to gather Montana physicians affiliated with the Montana WWAMI program and offer faculty development topics pertinent to their role of teaching physicians, particularly as they relate to rural and underserved care.
Speakers include: Dr. Bill Phillips of the University of Washington School of Medicine will speak on ARTE – Articulating and Reflecting Tacit Expertise; Dr. Gil Welch of Dartmouth Medical School, who will present at the Friday reception on Overdiagnosis in Medicine; and Dr. Ron Loge of Dillon, Montana, and a longtime Montana WWAMI educator, who will speak at the Saturday evening banquet on his experience as a rural clinical preceptor in the Montana WWAMI program.
Some of the topics available throughout the weekend include:
- Becoming a Doctor: Guiding First Year Students into the Culture of Medicine
- Reflective Feedback
- Teaching Using an EMR
- Clinical Teaching
- Career Choice/Mentoring/Advising
- Effective Orientation of Students
- Future of WRITE and TRUST

Travel Award Request Forms
Travel awards of $480 will be provided to the first 50 Montana WWAMI faculty who register for and attend the conference. Please fill out and turn in both forms (W-9 and request form are both required) at the registration desk or they may be mailed to: Sharon Kott, PO Box 170520, Bozeman, MT 59717-0520. Forms will also be available at the conference registration desk.
