Montana WWAMI Faculty Development Conference

¨      Montana WRITE and TRUST preceptors

¨      Non-Montana WRITE or TRUST/WRITE preceptors

¨      Families and Guests are Welcome!

The Montana WWAMI Faculty Development Conference will be held March 30th – April 1st   at Big Sky Resort. The goal of the conference is to gather Montana physicians affiliated with the Montana WWAMI program and offer faculty development topics pertinent to their role of teaching physicians, particularly as they relate to rural and underserved care.

Speakers include:  a panel of physician preceptors reflecting on teaching WWAMI students, including Drs. Greg Rice, Steve Gerstner, Blair Davison, and Mark Zilkoski, and moderated by Dr. Ron Loge; and a panel of students consisting of Jens Olsgaard, Abby Kelly, Kaycee Gardner, Timothy Hatlen and Eve Preus giv- ing feedback on their experiences as students.  In addition, Dr. Doug Paauw will speak on “What Matters Most: Patient’s Stories,” and Dr. Bertha Safford will speak on “PCMH and Teaching.

Some of the topics available throughout the weekend include:

¨      PCMH and Teaching
¨      Feedback
¨      Evaluation
¨      Professionalism
¨      What creates a good learning experience
¨      Teaching in the outpatient clinic
¨      Reflections on the TRUST Experience

Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Determination of credit is pending.

Travel Award Request Forms

Travel awards of up to $525 will be provided to the Montana WWAMI faculty who attend the conference. (Copies of lodging and gas receipts are required).
