Meet Our Interns!

Katherine Bernier

Katherine is at Montana State University for her first time as a National Exchange Student from the University of Massachusetts.  After 3 years at UMass Amherst as a public health major, she decided to escape to Montana for a taste of the mountains.  In her free time, Katherine enjoys hiking, kayaking, working with kids, and watching movies.  She is excited to work at the Office of Rural Health and looks forward to contributing much of her time to the program in order to learn about and improve the health of rural communities.  Outside of the office, Katherine would like to continue to explore Montana and the Bozeman area before she returns to the east coast.

Julia Middleton

Julia Middleton is a senior from Billings, MT, majoring in Biomedical Sciences. She is currently working for the Rural Health Initiative on the Incubator project. In addition to being an intern, Julia volunteers for the VOICE Center and Rocky Mountain Hospice, and she is one of the Co-Chairs for the Student Health Advisory Committee. She hopes to attend medical school and plans on going into rural medicine or internal medicine. In her spare time, Julia enjoys cross-country skiing and baking.

Ryan Fell

Ryan Fell is currently in his senior year at Montana State University.  He will graduate this spring with a major in Commerce, his language concentration being in Spanish and a minor in International Business.  He loves most active sports whether it is in the mountains, in the great outdoors, or in the water of the ocean.  He first became interested in health issues when he saw a need for it living abroad.  Interest resurfaced in Montana, leading Ryan to take an EMT class.  He thinks that the health field is a great thing to learn more about, whether in a foreign country or in Montana.
