Kristin Juliar, Director (994-6003) Email
Kristin Juliar is the director of Montana AHEC and ORH. In 2007, Ms. Juliar was appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at Montana State University, and was also the recipient of a multi-year grant from HRSA to establish Montana’s AHEC system. Before coming to Montana, Ms. Juliar was the Director of Minnesota’s Healthcare Education - Industry Partnership. She was also Executive Director of the Region Nine Development Commission, a rural development agency serving southern Minnesota. Ms. Juliar is on the Executive Committee of the national Rural Health Resource Center, and was recently elected to serve on the Board of the National Rural Health Association, and Chair of the NRHA Frontier Committee. She has served on several healthcare committees and boards in Montana and Minnesota. She has an M.A. in Urban and Regional Studies from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Natalie Claiborne, Assistant Director (994-6001) Email
Natalie is an alum of Montana State University, earning her Bachelors of Science in Community Health Education in 2005. Following her time in Bozeman, Natalie attended Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon earning her Masters of Public Health in 2007. Natalie joined the Montana Office of Rural Health and Area Health Education Program Office in September of 2007 and currently serving as Assistant Director of the Office of Rural Health. Outside of the office Natalie enjoys many adventures with her husband, daughter Bryn and Ellie, their golden retriever.
Sharon Kott, Administrative Associate III (994-6002) Email
Sharon has worked with the Montana AHEC since September, 1991, and has been at Montana State University since March, 1980. She is responsible for the office accounting, submits grants and progress reports for the AHEC and Office of Rural Health, and is the Coordinator for the AHEC Oral Health screening and education programs. Outside of work, Sharon is married to Rodney and is the mother of two children and grandmother of one beautiful baby boy. Her son, Bryan, and his wife, Danielle, are employed at Lame Deer Elementary School as Assistant Principal and School Nurse, respectively. They are the parents of her grandson, Quinten. Her daughter, Lisa, and her husband, Matt, are stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, where Lisa is an Army nurse. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her two “fur children” (a Brittany Spaniel and a Border Collie) and going to quilting retreats with her quilting buddies.
Rachel Pearson, Administrative Assistant (994-6495) Email
Rachel grew up on a wheat farm in Washington. She moved to Bozeman to pursue a degree in Architecture and began work as a work study student at the Mt AHEC. She soon decided she would rather major in accounting and took a year off from school to gain Montana State Residency. She worked full time at the Office of Rural Health as an administrative associate for a year. Now, she is a full time student back to working part time. Her office duties include helping Sharon out in any way that she can. Rachel loves living in Bozeman, and spends as much time as she canin the outdoors. Some of her favorite activities include hiking, mountain biking, hunting and skiing.
Carolyn Pollari, Assistant Project Coordinator (994-6808) Email
Carolyn Pollari is a senior at Montana State University. She is majoring in Community Health with a minor in Psychology. She was born in Billings, MT, but grew up in Canada. She is currently working as a Project Coordinator for the Rural Health Initiative and works on a variety of other projects in the office as well. As Carolyn’s awareness of the many health disparities across Montana and abroad increased, so did her desire to work in the health care field. She loves being outdoors, walking her dog, connecting with friends and taking every opportunity to explore more of Montana.
Julia Middleton, RHI Project Coordinator (994-5310) Email
Julia Middleton first came to the Montana Office of Rural Health and Area Health Education Center in the fall of 2009 as an INBRE Public Health Intern. Julia graduated in 2010 with a degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience from Montana State University-Bozeman. She is currently working on Masters in Health Sciences with an emphasis in Community Health. Julia plans to attend medical school in the future and plans on going into rural medicine.
Holly Wolff, Project Coordinator Email
Holly is a Montana State University alum, earning a Bachelor of Science in community health in 2009. She is currently working toward her Master of Health Administration from MSUB and will celebrate this achievement in spring 2012. Holly joined the Montana Area Health Education Center/Office of Rural Health in summer 2010 as a research assistant. She is enjoying the diversity of the projects and is currently assisting with the Workforce Development Plan and setting up the CATS program. Holly's professional interests include health services of the rural aging population and hopes to pursue a doctoral degree in health sciences to conduct her own research. Holly, and her husband Josh, stay busy at home with their two young boys, Tripp and Finn. They are actively involved in the renovation of their home while enjoying the summers in Bozeman with day hikes, kiddie pools and softball.
