MSU's Caring for Our Own Program in the College of Nursing received the five-year grant from the Indian Health Service. The funds will support 10 American Indian nursing students per year with funds for tuition, books and other educational expenses.
MSU is working with the University of Washington’s Regional Initiatives in Dental Education (RIDE) program to bring dental students from the Spokane-based program to train in Montana’s rural and Native American communities.
Called the Montana University System Institute for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice in Health and Medicine, the program was approved by the Montana Board of Regents in May.
Two MSU nursing students on the Missoula campus are participating in the Montana Interprofessional Student Hotspotting Project taking place with Partnership Health Center’s Complex Care Program.
