New interdisciplinary class at Montana State to investigate health care needs of LGBTQ+ community
A new class at Montana State University aims to give students studying nutrition and health care firsthand experience working with people from other disciplines to help solve a common problem while researching the health care needs of the LGBTQ+ community.
MSU Receives $2.1 million grant to help Native Americans succeed in nursing
MSU's Caring for Our Own Program in the College of Nursing received the five-year grant from the Indian Health Service. The funds will support 10 American Indian nursing students per year with funds for tuition, books and other educational expenses.'
MSU is working with the University of Washington’s Regional Initiatives in Dental Education (RIDE) program to bring dental students from the Spokane-based program to train in Montana’s rural and Native American communities.
Called the Montana University System Institute for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice in Health and Medicine, the program was approved by the Montana Board of Regents in May.
Two MSU nursing students on the Missoula campus are participating in the Montana Interprofessional Student Hotspotting Project taking place with Partnership Health Center’s Complex Care Program.
