Behavioral Health Training Program
The goal of the Behavioral Health Training Program is to prepare Community Health Workers, Community Paramedics or Peer Support Specialists (PSS) to work in team-based models of care in order to address the social and behavioral needs of our rural and frontier communities.
The core trainings will provide the knowledge and skills necessary to work in any one of the following behavioral health related positions:
- Community Health Worker
- Community Paramedic
- Peer Support Specialist
- Behavioral Health Technician
Upon completion of the core training, it is a requirement to continue to develop your skills through additional trainings for up to 6 months.
Participants will have access to a library of courses that offer the ability to customize your learning experience towards your behavioral health related interests and career goals.
Choose from a number of courses including:
- Trauma Informed Care
- ACEs
- Grief and Loss Training
- Geriatric Fall Prevention
- Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)
- Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB)
- SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment)
- …and so many more
