Empowering future healthcare leaders by providing opportunities to explore diverse careers and transforming lives for students from all backgrounds

Overview

MedStart is a Montana AHEC program designed to encourage rising sophomores, juniors and seniors to pursue their interest in a variety of healthcare careers. AHEC welcomes participants from all backgrounds - including rural, low-income, first-generation college students, and/or underserved backgrounds - to explore healthcare careers, learn about college life, and discover their path to higher education. Many scholarships are available, however, due to the competitive nature of the camps students are encouraged to apply early. Applications open in January and are due in March.

Applications for Summer 2026 will open on Monday, January 5th!
